No one mourns the wicked, but Amanda Seyfried couldn’t help but be disappointed by this job loss.
From her standout role in 2004 in mean girls to his latest Hulu project The stall, Amanda has an impressive acting career. Along the way, she’s learned to protect herself from career disappointments, but recently Amanda got candid about a role she missed out on that definitely stung her.
“When I meet someone who’s younger, like in their twenties, and they’re rejected…by a job or something, it completely crushes them for a minute,” Amanda said. Carry in an August 8 interview. She added, “Nothing can completely crush me, when it comes to work. I’m indestructible! Nothing can crush my life, unless it has to do with my family.”
Although she’s built a strong spine to handle rejection, Amanda shared that doesn’t mean she’s bulletproof to the point where she’s immune to everything.
“[That’s] not to say that I do not hurt myself in my work. I lost a big role that I really wanted—[well]I thought I wanted,” she shared, with the outlet confirming the role in question was Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Nasty.
“It was devastating,” Amanda said. “And that wasn’t for any other reason that I really felt like it was right. But that doesn’t take away from my confidence.”
