Allison Langdon has hinted that Tracy Grimshaw could return to 60 Minutes after a year off.
The new host of A Current Affair gave an elusive answer about her possible return to TV screens when she was grilled on KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday.
Kyle bluntly asked Ally if Tracy would come out of retirement and lead Nine’s flagship show.

‘Who knows?’ Tracy is done. She’s tired,” Ally said of her former colleague.
I think she’s going to have some margaritas by the pool. I think she’s just going to enjoy it. She deserves it,” she added.
Tracy was somewhat wary of her next moves when she appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O Show last week, saying she was just focused on living.
When Kyle asked the TV veteran if she would move on to The Project or another news show, Tracy said it wasn’t planned for her yet.
“I’m having a year off and doing nothing for a whole year. I’m resetting my work-life balance next year,” she said.
“But then you never know what I might do in 2024.”
Meanwhile, Kyle also questioned Ally on Tuesday about how Tracy apparently “snubbed” her hug on her last day at work.

Ally assured Channel Nine viewers that there were no hard feelings between her and Tracy.
She revealed that Tracy texted her to smooth things over and all she did was support her as the new host of A Current Affair.
“I hate this idea of women being pitted against each other,” the 43-year-old said.
“Tracy talked to me through this process. I had so many discussions with her, about taking over and sitting in that chair,’ she continued.
She also said that Tracy texted her the night of the snub and that everything was fine between them.
Tracy previously clarified on Twitter that she didn’t snub Ally after her last episode of ACA last week, and was just “pissed off and overwhelmed” which caused the accidental forgetting.
Ally will step into the coveted role of news mainstay this New Year, following the departure of longtime host Tracy in September.
On Sunday, Channel Nine shared the news on A Current Affair’s official Instagram account, praising Ally, 43, as one of Australia’s “most fearless and respected journalists”.
“In 2023, Ally Langdon will take over as host president of A Current Affair following the retirement of longtime host Tracy Grimshaw,” the announcement read.

The post included an image of Ally emblazoned with the words “new host.”
In a press release on Sunday, Ally expressed her excitement and concern about taking on the respected position.
“It’s an incredible honor to join the A Current Affair team. A show that I love, respect and watch since I was in school and Jana Wendt was the host, ‘began the reporter.
“I won’t lie – it’s daunting to step into the role that Tracy has navigated so brilliantly over the past 17 years, with such warmth and compassion.
“I hope to bring my own warmth and compassion to the show as we continue to tell great stories that matter to our amazing viewers.”
Ally also confirmed she would be quitting the Today show, which she hosted alongside Karl Stefanovic, following the new gig – but expressed her joy at no longer having to work early in the morning in favor of a nocturnal emission.
“I understand that this is a big change for our audience and also for me personally. There is great sadness to be leaving my brilliant Today Show family, especially my co-host Karl, who has made the past three years so wonderful and fun, even though I won’t miss that 3am alarm! she says.
