Netflix released the trailer for All together now, the film based on Silver Linings Playbook the novel by author Matthew Quick Sorta like a rock star. Auli’i Cravalho stars in the drama directed by Brett Haley, which airs August 28.
Adapted by Quick, Haley and Marc Basch, Moana and All stand up The Cravalho star plays Amber Appleton, a musically gifted high school student who remains upbeat even when her personal life is less stable than it seems. She balances her beloved high school drama club run by Mr. Franks (Fred Armisen) and college dreams with working long hours in a donut shop to help support herself and her mother. unlucky bachelor (Justina Machado), and they live on a school bus after mom’s boyfriend kicks them out of his house. Amber also spends time in the local retirement community, giving care and attention to her favorite resident (Carol Burnett).
Also on the bill are Rhenzy Feliz, Judy Reyes, Taylor Richardson, CS Lee, Anthony Jacques Jr. and Gerald Isaac Waters.
The film has come a long way to the streaming giant. Then-Fox Searchlight, which published Silver Linings Playbook and scored eight Oscars with him, including a win for Jennifer Lawrence, originally acquired Sorta like a rock starthe rights of the 2013 film, with Miguel Arteta on board to develop it. Deadline picked up the news from Netflix, Cravalho, and Haley in July 2019.
Producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman of Gotham and Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner of Temple Hill Entertainment, who teamed up on Fox’s Maze Runner series, are the producers.
