Alex Scott revealed that she sought therapy after vicious online trolling had taken its toll on her mental health.
The 35-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star explained at a special International Women’s Day event that she had been trolled throughout her stint on the 2019 edition of the show, where she was partner of Neil Jones.
In a report on The Sun event, Alex said she had a “ really tough ” year after competing, and the vitriol comments were so bad that she didn’t want to talk about them with family and friends.

In the frank conversation, she said, “ It made me go get therapy, talk about it. And it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
“I would say that I am still traveling. I’m still in therapy, so I’m learning more to communicate with my emotions.
Adding that it was easier said than leaving social media or talking about what happened to loved ones, she added, “ I didn’t want to talk to my family and friends. friends because I didn’t want to pressure them, I didn’t want them to worry.

Alex spoke to 130 schoolgirls alongside Davina McCall and Claudia Winkleman, hoping to inspire them to break the glass ceiling.
The English ace has already spoken of the horrible comments she had received, adding that she had even received death threats.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror last year, she said, “ I had everything – to be a woman on TV, to be a woman of color on TV, that I check, death threats .
“I had a lot. But I’m still standing. All the time, I thought, “No, I’m good at my job”. That’s why I graduated, so no one can ever say I’m right there because I’m a checkbox.
Alex and Neil were eliminated at week 11 of Strictly, and the footballer’s stint on the show saw her dance alongside Kevin Clifton for two weeks after her dance partner had to temporarily withdraw due to a injury.
The pair narrowly missed a spot in the Strictly semifinals when Shirley Ballas’ decisive vote went in favor of Chris Ramsey and his professional partner Karen Hauer.
