The wine calendar will sell for $ 59.99, up from $ 69.99 in previous years. It will only be available at US Aldi stores that sell alcohol.
Aldi said in its statement that additional calendars will continue to launch in November and December and that it will reveal its full lineup of calendars in November, including prices and sale dates.
Last year Aldi had 20 calendars, the highest number, including calendars filled with candles, toys, books, candy, pet treats and more.
“Our Advent calendars are some of the most sought after and discussed items that we carry every year, so we knew shoppers would welcome even more options,” said Joan Kavanaugh, vice president of national purchasing at ‘Aldi US, at USA TODAY in 2020.
Kavanaugh said Aldi had been selling Advent calendars for many years, but their popularity skyrocketed in 2018 when America’s first wine calendar went on sale.
“Based on the overwhelmingly positive interest from buyers, we realized that there was a real market for unique countdown calendars for the holidays,” said Kavanaugh.
To get your hands on one of the limited items, which have sold out quickly over the past few years with a few eBay landings, you’ll need to visit one of more than 2,000 Aldi stores in 36 states. However, not all states or municipalities allow the sale of alcohol in grocery stores; these stores are expected to carry cheese and other calendars.
Aldi has said on its website that the alcohol and cheese calendars will not be available for curb delivery or pickup, but some of its other calendars and countdowns will be, but this will vary depending on the site.
Costco has already released its 2021 Advent calendars for wine and beer. The Wine Calendar costs $ 99.99 and the Beer Calendar sells for $ 59.99. Prices and availability vary by location.
