Oslo, Norway, March 8, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Aker ASA (“Aker”) today announced the creation of Seetee AS (“Seetee”), a new company dedicated to investing in projects and businesses across the Bitcoin ecosystem and which will keep all of its assets liquid investable in bitcoin. Seetee is initially capitalized with 500 million NOK.
Seetee will initially focus on 1) investing and owning bitcoin, 2) joining the Bitcoin and broader blockchain community and partnering with major players, 3) initiating Bitcoin verification operations, and 4) building and invest in innovation projects and businesses in Bitcoin and the blockchain ecosystem.
Seetee will pursue these opportunities building on the capabilities that have been developed in the Aker Group through efforts in the industrial software, fintech and green energy value chains. This gives Seetee the opportunity to pursue innovations in Bitcoin and the wider ecosystem, for example in the areas of cybersecurity, financial transactions and zero-emission verification operations.
To accelerate its initiatives, Seetee will actively collaborate with other companies. To this end, Seetee has entered into a collaboration agreement with Blockstream, a global leader in Bitcoin and blockchain technology. Blockstream enables companies to access the most mature, best-tested, and most secure blockchain technology in production – the Bitcoin protocol extended via interoperable sidechains to support new applications – as well as the most experienced teams in the industry. sector.
