Jeonbuk achieved the domestic double last season, edging out Ulsan Hyundai FC in the league and Cup titles, but their dreams of a third AFC Champions League triumph ended in the group stage.
Ulsan, meanwhile, has won the AFC Champions League title for the second time in its history.
“Our goal is to win our fifth consecutive K League 1 title, and also to win our second consecutive FA Cup,” Kim said ahead of the Korean Republic’s domestic season kick-off on Saturday with Jeonbuk against FC Seoul. .
“We also have to aim to win the AFC Champions League.”
Kim, former assistant to José Morais, also wants his team to score at least two goals per game, which he says is possible with Russian Stanislav Iljutcenko, Brazilian Gustavo and Republic of Korea star Kim Seung-dae. on the team.
“We want to average at least two goals per game,” Kim said. “If Iljutcenko, Kim Seung-dae and Gustavo can combine for 40 goals, we should be able to score two goals per game.”
In the 2021 AFC Champions League, Jeonbuk is in Group H with Gamba Osaka of Japan, Australia’s Sydney FC and Singapore’s Tampines Rovers FC for company.
Kim’s side will aim to add to the AFC Champions League titles won in 2006 and 2016.
