Adam Sandler helps raise $15,000 in honor of Cameron Boyce – Page Six

Adam Sandler continues to honor his “Grown Ups” co-star Cameron Boyce.

Sandler first paid tribute to the late Disney Channel star with an emotional social media post, then posted a fundraiser for the Thirst Project, a charity close to Boyce’s heart, on his Facebook page.

Thirst Project CEO and co-founder Seth Maxwell told TMZ nearly $15,000 was raised from more than 350 people for the charity, largely through a Facebook fundraiser from Sandler. . Thirst Project brings wells that provide drinking water to villages across Africa.

Other celebrities such as Skai Jackson and Nolan Gould also encouraged their followers to donate to the cause.

The ‘Descendants’ star died last week aged 20 after suffering an epileptic seizure in his sleep. The coroner’s preliminary report said Boyce died of natural causes, and the final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date.

Disney canceled the red carpet premiere of “Descendants 3” after Boyce’s sudden death and also donated to the Thirst Project.

“We’re proud to be a part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his on-screen talents, but we’re canceling the red carpet premiere for ‘Descendants 3’ and instead The Walt Disney Company will donate to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organization to which Cameron was deeply committed,” Disney told Page Six in a statement Thursday.
