Actress Emma Stone says she ‘wishes’ to be called by her real name

Hollywood actress Emma Stone has revealed she would prefer to be known by her real name – Emily.

The Oscar winner said Emily was her birth name and she would prefer to be called that.

The star of La La Land and the poor things said The Hollywood Reporter she would like fans to know her by her original name.

She changed it before she became famous because there was another actress at the time named Emily Stone, so she changed her first name to Emma.

But Rock said she “freaked out” a few years ago and told her co-workers to call her Emily.

When asked how she would react if fans called her Emily, Stone replied, “That would be so sweet. I would love to be Emily.”

Nathan Fielder, her co-star in the comedy thriller TV series The Curse, revealed that Emma was the 35-year-old’s stage name during the recent interview.

He told how he calls her Emily or Em and that she “goes by Emma professionally.”

When asked if anyone in the film industry calls her Emily, Stone replied, “When I know them, the people I work with go [call me Emily]. It’s just because my name was taken [by another actress in the Screen Actors Guild].

“Then I freaked out a few years ago. For some reason I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Just call me Emily.” Nathan calls me Em, which is easier.”
