Achiuwa Big Winner at Annual Tiger Basketball Banquet – Memphis Official Athletic Site


MEMPHIS, Tenn. – First year striker from University of Memphis Precious Achiuwa, the only freshman in the country to get a double-double, was the recipient of the most awards Sunday evening at the Tigers basketball banquet at the school’s university center.

Achiuwa earned recognition as the Most Helpful Player and Defensive Player of the Year, in addition to receiving the Leader Bounce Award.

Second year goalkeeper Alex Lomax and freshman Jayden Hardaway won two awards each. Lomax won the Assist Leader award and the Steal Leader award, while Hardaway received the Sportsmanship award and the All-Academic award.

The sixth man of the year award went to Tyler harris, the teammate of the year award went to Lance Thomas and Damion baugh was a recipient of the Hustle Prize. First-year student D.J. Jeffries won the Most Versatile Player Award.
