There are only a few cars outside of the supercar segment that are able to accelerate from a standstill to 62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) in under three seconds. The BMW M5 CS is one of them and we have seen it in action several times, proving that it is a real monster. Just a few weeks ago we saw him destroy an original Audi RS7 and the folks at ABT weren’t happy with that result.
In a new video, we see the same M5 CS taking on ABT’s RS6-R, one of the fastest wagons on the planet. It was unveiled in April of last year and our German team drove one and found it to be a real rocket. Does he have what it takes to beat the M5 CS? Let’s see the numbers.

As mentioned above, the Bimmer is in stock form, which means its 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine generates 626 horsepower (467 kilowatts) and torque of 553 pound-feet (750 Newton- meters). The fast sedan weighs 4,189 pounds (1,900 kilograms).
Against this, the RS6-R uses a modified version of Audi’s twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 740 hp (544 kW) and 678 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque. Both cars are all-wheel drive and that should really help them as the drag race in the video at the top of this page is on a wet surface. The acceleration and quarter-mile times were not this great, but it’s still impressive to see a two-ton car sprinting to 62 mph (100 km / h) in about four seconds in the rain.
In the standing start discipline, the cars completed three runs. In the first, the M5 CS scored a comfortable victory, but the ABT-powered RS6 won the next. Which car won the final race? Watch the video to find out.
