The cast of David Leitch’s highly anticipated action flick High-speed train continues to grow as Aaron Taylor Johnson becomes the latest name associated with a project that also includes Brad Pitt, Joey King and more.
Based on the Japanese novel Maria beetle directed by Kotaro Isaka, the film will tell the story of five deadly assassins all trained in the same high-speed train traveling from Tokyo to Morioka. Rapid transport has limited stops before its destination, and without knowing what to expect at the end of the journey, it becomes a story of who can stay alive.
As previously reported, according to Deadline, Joey King “plays one of the four lead roles opposite Pitt” and the actress is said to be the only female in the group in a screenplay that was written by Zak Olkewicz. It is now widely believed that Aaron Taylor Johnson will occupy another assasis niche.
Director Leitch, famous for his past projects such as John Wick, Deadpool 2, Hobbs and Shaw and more, will produce the new film alongside Kelly McCormick through their company 87North. It is also reported that Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick and Brittany Morrissey will be in production for Sony Pictures.
Like most productions this year, a precise production date has not been confirmed due to the current health crisis. Reports suggest Sony hopes to start work on the film this fall in Los Angeles with coronavirus protocols in place.
