You and I are vicariously on vacation watching Season 2 of The White Lotus. Naturally, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are vacationing in Barbados. And, shh, did they get dressed.
The world’s hottest couple earned, if only briefly, the more localized designation of Caribbean’s hottest couple last week as they visited Rihanna’s home country of Barbados. New parents – maybe in “babymoon”? – seem to be spending time as a very well-dressed and probably essential couple: On Saturday, they attended the reggae show Imagine in Bridgetown and met dancehall legend Beenie Man. behind the scenes, where Rocky, intentionally or not, matched his chiseled Y/Project x Jean Paul Gaultier long-sleeved trompe l’oeil with Rih’s lipstick Magda Butrym mini dress and a visible kiss mark (probably Fenty) lipstick on her cheek. Cute! 💋

If anything, this trip was a great opportunity for A$AP Rocky to really get into his bag of wearing shorts at night. He paired the aforementioned “Body Morph” t-shirt with olive cargo shorts just past the knee, a wide-brimmed bucket hat and his trusty Velcro-strapped Prada America’s Cup sneakers – a combination that would look goofy on anyone but A$AP Rocky. The following night, he opted for a roomy pair of black shorts and a cropped black Miu Miu denim jacket worn over an ERL logo tee, accessorized with a White Sox hat and his bedazzled “GRIM” semi-precious belt, which is, by the way, also the supposed title of his anticipated fourth studio album.

But perhaps Rocky’s happiest vacation outfit came the next day, when he hit the beach without his wife to go jet-skiing (which is, speaking of, not not a plot point about this season of The White Lotus). He stood on the shore wearing a pit crew-style rash guard covered in an unquantifiable array of fishing-adjacent logos — Bass Pro Shops, Monster Energy and Glo-Pro Lures, to name a few — and also branded board shorts. Next to him on the sand sat a pair of temperamental JJJJound Asics. As he smiled in his neoprene strappy neon Louis Vuitton sunglasses, he looked like an incarnation of Jake, Life is Good’s stick mascot. And you know what? Sometimes life is beautiful. Especially when you’re A$AP Rocky on vacation.
