A young woman died after falling from a balcony on the sixth floor of a building.
Emergency services were called to Quarry Green Heights on Daleside Road in Kirkby after learning that a woman had been found injured outside one of the tall buildings.
Firefighters, paramedics and police arrived at around 8:50 p.m. Thursday, but the woman was tragically declared dead at the scene.
The death of the woman, in her thirties, does not seem suspicious, but a police investigation into the incident is underway.
A cordon was erected at the scene while forensic officers worked inside a proof tent outside the flat block.
