Even though A-Rod claimed he missed the ceremony at Yankee Stadium because of something big, the former Yankee didn’t reveal the fact, if he was invited to the event. Finally, his absence from the ceremony caused a stir, making people believe that the reason was the feud.

Alex Rodriguez ditched Derek Jeter for a date?
May 14, 2017 was the day set for Derek Jeter’s jersey retirement ceremony at Yankee Stadium. Coincidentally, the ceremony fell on the same day as Mother’s Day. That day, instead of being there for his former best friend, A-Rod opted to spend the night with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and his mother.
When Alex didn’t show up for the ceremony, it raised questions. While he may not have done it on purpose, it was enough for the baseball world to question A-Rod’s priority.
However, he later answered questions about his absence from the ceremony. He said the only reason behind it was that the retirement ceremony was happening on the same day as Mother’s Day. And he spent the evening with his mother and JLo. However, he confirmed that he saw the entire ceremony and even posted a congratulatory story on his Instagram.
