The Android 13 beta and its emerging issues have once again become a hot topic of discussion among users. According to the input reveals, the latest Android 13 beta is now causing issues with wallpaper colors and styles.
Recently, a Pixel 6 Pro user discovered that the latest Android 13 beta update is constantly causing issues with the wallpaper system. User reports that after installing the beta iteration, wallpaper colors and styles keep changing.
Notably, Android 13 has already ignored the ability to “lock” wallpapers for some reason. And as of now, the latest Android 13 beta continues to change wallpaper colors and styles every time the phone sleeps.
The user further explains that before Android 13, he could set the wallpaper colors accordingly. These colors stand out on the phone until the user himself makes an effort to change them. However, the Android 13 beta welcomed the respective wallpaper issue on its handset.
Apart from the major problem, the user also brought Android 12 to our attention. Even so, Android 12 was the first OS to introduce Material You, the problem never appeared with its beta version or the stable release.
It’s not the wallpaper, it’s the colors and styles
To be specific, the user mentions that it is not the wallpaper, but the icons and screen texts on the home screen that change frequently. Therefore, it became a matter of annoyance more than concern.
On the other hand, it has become a matter of confusion. Many users believe that this could be the advantage of Material You which has been revamped with Android 13. Although the person concerned denies the statements.
To clear up the confusion, the user further explains that with Android 13 the color changes and sets the first color scheme accordingly. This usually happens after restarting the device. But, here the problem occurs throughout the day.
Also, the wallpaper and lock screen image remain the same. However, the color is reset to the first color set.
Same problem for three months!
It is worth mentioning that three months ago a user described a similar issue with Android 13 Beta 1. Eventually the wallpaper colors reset and often switch between light and dark modes. It seems that the problem has not been fixed since then.
Probably, the bug could be in the Material You system. After Android 12, wallpaper and other color changing scenarios have been locked in Material You feature. Although the addition was quite attractive in the early days, it seems to have become a huge headache for users now. However, since the user has declined the Material You concept, we cannot trigger this feature.
Many problems with Android 13 Beta!
So far, we are encountering several Android 13 beta issues that have plagued Pixel device owners. The most recent was the app switcher bug which caused apps to work abnormally or freeze.
While users continue to face some or the other issue with the latest beta rollout, Google has not taken any action in this regard. Perhaps the company would work to eliminate these issues from the stable release.
The Android 13 beta showed various bugs ahead of the stable update. Even after several fixes and improvements in the changelog, the firmware continues to create problems for users. We hope we will have a bug free and more reliable system in the next stable release.
