High-profile actors have been making subtle cameos in movies and on TV for decades, and while this seems like a largely narcissistic endeavor, they can actually be done in artistic, hilarious, and sometimes awesome ways. Whether it’s Bill Murray defending himself from the living dead in the land of zombies or Bruce Campbell organizing wrestling matches in Spider Man, there are plenty of funny cameos to spot in the movies. And Brad Pitt has perfected the cameo several times.
Pitt is the king of cameos because he’s had so many and they range from brilliantly self-referential to surprisingly deep. Between being invited to late night shows as a meteorologist hating global warming and being kidnapped Donkey, Pitt doesn’t have enough credit to be an ingenious gangster.
9 Friends
A thing Friends did better than any other sitcom was to use movie stars for unique roles in the series. Matthew Perry even managed to get Bruce Willis on the show after the action hero lost a bet against the comedy actor.
But among all the big stars invited to Friends Throughout the 10 years, the best is the role of Brad Pitt as Will Colbert. The character was the enemy of Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), as he was the founder of the “I Hate Rachel Green Club”. And since Pitt and Aniston were a couple at the time, the role played brilliantly on it and turned expectations around.
8 The Jim Jefferies Show
In another weird but brilliant TV cameo, Pitt appeared on The Jim Jefferies Show like the Weatherman, and it was almost like a SNL sketch, as Pitt yelled at viewers about global warming. But what was great about his role as The Weatherman was that he was as close to a recurring role as a cameo could get. In one episode, he even called from Venice, claiming he was in a “Noah’s Ark” type situation.
It may seem like a collaboration out of nowhere, as their two very different paths could not have crossed. But Brad Pitt reached out to Jefferies to be a part of the show after admiring the comedian’s stand-up routine and even took the SAG minimum wage of $ 400 per episode.
7 King of the hill
In king of the hillJeff Boomhauer is restless and almost completely incomprehensible in his speech, and he’s one of the funniest things about the TV show. One episode titled “Patch Boomhauer” is based entirely on Jeff’s brother coming to town, and the two are exactly the same.
Pitt voices his brother, and what’s so great about his performance is that the actor perfectly mimics Jeff’s unintelligible way of speaking and his distinct vernacular. Between the SNL sketch of the Weatherman and his voice in king of the hill, Brad Pitt may well be one of the greatest impressionists of this generation.
6 happy feet two
happy feet is a strange movie, and not just because its premise centers around the dancing and singing of penguins. The sequel is sort of even weirder, and that’s mostly thanks to Brad Pitt’s cameo voice as Will, a Krill who tries to climb to the top of the food chain after learning he’s down. .
It wasn’t the only surprising voice cameo, as Matt Damon plays Will’s friend Bill the Krill. Their story had nothing to do with anything that happened in the movie, and both Krills had a few cut segments throughout the movie. Pitt and Damon’s hilarious take on krill surely helped a lot happy feet two become one of the highest grossing animated films of all time.
5 Donkey
The imminent exit of Jackass forever made fans all nostalgic for the long series of stunts. And those who return to the TV show to prepare for the release of the fourth film will see Pitt working with Johnny Knoxville and his crew to perform a stunt in a movie theater queue.
The scene looks more like Punk’d than a clip of Donkey, because it’s more of a joke than a stunt, but the joke is on moviegoers. When Pitt isn’t so quietly lining up to enter the theater, a black van pulls up, screams his name, and several men grab him and throw him into the van. What follows is a group of very confused fans telling 911 operators that they just witnessed the kidnapping of Brad Pitt.
4 Some good news
Some good news was created by John Krasinski during his 40s in 2020 to shine a little light on people’s lives. Every now and then celebrities make guest appearances and, as usual, Pitt’s feature film is one of the best. The cameo clearly plays on his cameo earlier in the decade as The Weatherman in The Jim Jefferies Show. But what makes his role as The Weatherman in Some good news so funny is that it literally only lasts a few seconds.
Not only was this a reference to the previous cameo, but due to its similarity, it could also be a nod to the daily weather forecast offered by director David Lynch on YouTube. Much like Lynch did in his forecast, Pitt briefly pokes his head out the window and explains the weather with the quick phrase, “That’s pretty good.”
3 Confessions of a dangerous mind
Cameos can range from a surprising appearance that takes place in a supporting role to a single flashing frame and you will miss it. Confessions of a dangerous mind is closer to the latter, because Pitt can’t be onscreen for more than five seconds and he doesn’t have a single word of dialogue.
Pitt appears as the # 1 bachelor on The dating game in the movie, and he’s only seen when the camera switches from Bachelor # 1 to Bachelor # 3. What makes it even better is that Matt Damon also has an appearance as a # 2 single, and he doesn’t have lines either. It’s not hard to believe that Pitt has a cameo, as it was directed by George Clooney, who undoubtedly forced his Hollywood friends to do it.
2 Deadpool 2
The appearance of Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2 is without a doubt his most talked about cameo and one of his best. The actor plays a superhero called The Vanisher, but the hero doesn’t speak and his super power is that he’s invisible, so the character is still there but no one knows what he looks like.
It wasn’t until a few scenes later, when he was electrocuted by a telephone wire and killed, that he became visible for a fraction of a second. It’s not just a fun cameo, but it’s one of the smartest perks of gag setup in recent memory, and it’s part of what makes Deadpool 2 Better than the original.
1 Being John Malkovich
Brad Pitt’s One-Second Cameo in Being John Malkovich is not as exciting as that of Deadpool 2, and it is not self-referential as in Some good news. However, Pitt is used to serve the story in the film.
In the film, Maxine is recognized by the paparazzi on the red carpet for being linked to John Malkovich. After being yelled at by reporters, she gives a brief interview and then moves on. As she leaves, the celebrity next to her is ignored: Brad Pitt. It’s a social commentary on the cult of fame and how quickly A-listers are ditched in favor of something new. It’s criticizing the entertainment industry, tabloid journalism and those who read it, and all in a fraction of a second.
