N ° 1 Jesuit 61, n ° 16 Summit 55
Liam Ruttledge scored 17 of his career-high 30 points in the fourth quarter as reigning champion Crusaders (22-4) finally eliminated a stubborn top team who gave the best seeds all they could manage in a second round clash at Beaverton.
The Storm (17-8), looking for his first place in the State Class 6A tournament, led 11-7 after a quarter and was down 41-38 after three quarters while Jacob Tompkins kept the Bend school in the game. He finished with 21 points, nine in the third quarter.
That’s when Ruttledge came to pick up the Crusaders to help them qualify for the State tournament for the 11th time in the past 12 seasons. He scored all but three points in the fourth quarter for the Jesuits to lead the Metro League champions.
“I feel good coming back to the Chiles Center,” said Ruttledge. “It was a great experience last year and it’s great to be able to win another championship this year.”
N ° 5 central Catholic 58, n ° 12 Tigard 43
Darius Gakwasi scored 22 points and Central Catholic (19-7) detained Three Rivers player of the year Drew Carter at eight points as the Rams clinched a trip to the Chiles Center for the second consecutive year after a home win over Tigard (16-10).
Gakwasi scored 10 points in the first quarter as Central Catholic took a 20-12 lead he never gave up.
Luke Johnson added 17 points, including 13 in the second period, for the Rams, who are looking to become the first school since West Linn in 2016 to win the 6A football and men’s basketball titles.
Steven Long led the Tigers with 10 points.
No 4 Clackamas 69, no 13 Grant 66
Ben Gregg scored a 26-point high, and Clackamas (21-5) will return to the Chiles Center for the first time since 2017 after the Cavaliers held on for a home win over Grant (18-9).
Ryan Lewis collected 13 points and Jackson Jaha collected 12 for Clackamas. Jaha made four free throws in the stretch to help seal the win.
The generals will miss the state tournament for the first time since 2016.
# 3 Jefferson 86, # 14 Sherwood 69
Nate Rawlins-Kibonge had a 20-point high to lead four double-digit Jefferson goalscorers, and Democratic champion PIL (23-4) made his fifth straight trip to the state tournament while separating himself from Pacific champion Sherwood (19 -7) in North Portland.
Jefferson led 22-21 after a quarter, but Rawlins-Kibonge scored eight points and Keyshawn Hall six in the second to help the Democrats extend their lead to 43-35 at halftime.
Hall and Marquis Cook added 16 points each for Jefferson, and Jalen Adams had 12 points. Rawlins-Kibonge added 11 rebounds and three blocks, Cook grabbed 10 boards and Lamar Washington had six assists.
While the Democrats focused on slowing Pacific Conference player of the year Jamison Guerra by keeping the main guard at 10 points, Blake Jensen led the way for the Bowmen with 17 points. Caden Davis added 14 for Sherwood, who last competed in a state tournament in 2014 while in class 5A.
No.9 West Linn 68, No.8 Mountainside 50
Micah Garrett senior scored 20 points to lead a balanced attack by West Linn, and first-year phenomenon Jackson Shelstad had 18 points to play with five assists, five rebounds and six interceptions while the Lions (17-9 ) returned to the state tournament. for the first time since 2017, winning at Mountainside (21-5) to refuse the Beaverton school its first place in the tournament.
Shelstad hit a 35-foot pointer to beat the buzzer in the first quarter, giving West Linn a 28-15 lead. The advance never fell below 10 the rest of the way. Nathan Mouzong’s driving basket drew the Mavericks at 54-43 with 5:02 left, but the Lions responded with a 7-0 run to regain control.
Parker Durbin added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions, who shot 9 for 16 from the three-point range compared to 4 for Mountainside for 15. Bennett Giebels led the Mavericks with 18 points and seven rebounds, and Andrew Ingalls had six points and 10 rebounds.

Jack Chlumak added 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Lake Oswego, which led to a 34-19 halftime lead. Grant Brauner had 14 points and Trace Salton had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers.
Sam Harris led the Axis with 20 points. Josh Paul added 13 points and Aidan Clark had eight points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots before committing a foul.
No 2 South Salem 68, no 18 Oregon City 56
Trey Galbraith led a balanced attack on South Salem with 15 points and five assists, and the Saxons (23-3) rebounded from a 41-40 deficit after three quarters to defeat Oregon City (15-11) at home and win a second consecutive state. tournament place.
The Pioneers erased a six point deficit in the third quarter to take the lead when entering the fourth. The Saxons got 15 for 16 from the free throw line in the final three minutes to seal the win.
Cole Hardy made a three-point clutch to boost the load of the Saxons in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. Emorej Lynk added 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and Nick Zuro had 13 points and nine rebounds as South Salem claimed 16th straight.

Joey Wolcott added 15 points for the Bruins. Wayne Jamison led the Wildcats with 20 points.
