Cellular data on your smartphone is important so you can connect to your mobile carrier’s network and make WhatsApp phone calls, check emails, stream music and videos, use Google Maps and much more if you do not have access to an Internet connection. But what happens if your cellular data isn’t working? You can usually fix it in a few simple steps. We will show you how to do this on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

  1. 01

Turn mobile data off and on

Although this may seem like a very rudimentary troubleshooting method, in most cases this technique is enough to restore Internet connectivity. Before doing this, just make sure that mobile data is indeed enabled from the quick settings panel.

  2. 02

Turn airplane mode on and off

Quickly enabling Airplane Mode on your smartphone will automatically turn off and disconnect all wireless networks and automatically reset network issues. By simply turning off airplane mode, the mobile network should start working.

  3. 03

    Restart the smartphone

Restarting your smartphone will also resolve some network-related issues. Only do this if the first two guides do not yield a positive result. While doing this, you can also remove the SIM card and reinsert it, just to make sure there are no problems with the SIM card itself.

  4. 04

    Reload and reinstall the app

If you can’t access the internet on a specific app, force closing the app and reopening it might do the trick. In some scenarios, you may also need to uninstall and reinstall the app from the Google Play Store or Samsung Store.

  5. 05

    Select 4G/5G network type

Make sure you have opted for 4G/5G network type and are not set to 5G only, as 5G network is still not available in most places. If your network supports 3G/2G networks, you can also try switching to them, especially if you are having trouble accessing mobile data in remote locations. Also make sure the phone and SIM card are compatible with 5G technology, especially if you are trying to access a 5G network.

  6. 06

    Change hotspot

You can also try changing the access point from the connections setup menu and selecting the correct access point from your network provider. While this was a bigger problem a few years ago, with 4G and 5G networks, smartphones are smart enough to automatically select the best hotspot.
