Huawei has released details of the December 2022 EMUI security patch for global smartphones. This update will soon begin rolling out to eligible models in addition to the new OTA software. Huawei is currently rolling out the November 2022 security patch for flagship and midrange devices. These phones will soon be promoted to a new firmware version.

Meanwhile, Huawei smartphone users are waiting for another major software update. However, Huawei did not reveal any details about EMUI 13 or its rollout. As December could bring news about EMUI 13 which is highly anticipated.

Huawei releases these software updates in quarterly and monthly periods. And aims to improve the stability, functionality and performance of the phone on EMUI 12.0.1, EMUI 12.0.0 and EMUI 11.0.1.

According to the patch details, the EMUI Huawei December 2022 patch fixes 17 high-level CVEs, 2 medium CVEs, and no new CVEs found in the low-level. On the other hand, the patches also apply fixes for several other issues found in the latest build release.

Currently, we have not spotted the deployment of the December 2022 security patch. However, you should grab this deployment as soon as it appears on your Huawei smartphone.

You can search for the latest software update, open Settings > tap on System and updates, then tap on Software updates and tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES. Then the phone will check for the latest firmware deployment. However, releasing software updates for specific devices may take some time.

Therefore, we also suggest that you request new firmware through the My Huawei app and go to the Updates section.
