Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
The new biographical crime drama, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, is another series dedicated to the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Told from the perspective of victims, this series delves into the pleas of Dahmer’s neighbor Glenda Cleveland (Niecy Nash) for law enforcement to take action against Dahmer and the murders she knew were happening.
Evan Peters plays Dahmer in this new crime drama series, and this one isn’t for the faint-hearted. Dahmer was a serial killer and sex offender who murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. The series consists of 10 episodes and chronicles the murderers and systemic racism of law enforcement that the community and Cleveland have endured.
The series also stars Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, Richard Jenkins, Penelope Ann Miller and Dyllón Burnside.
Fate: The Winx Saga season 2
The second season of the Netflix original Destiny: The Winx Saga is out. This series is a teen drama based on Nickelodeon’s animated series winx club. The original was aimed at younger audiences, but this series is a darker story for older audiences.
The series follows Bloom (Abigail Cowen), who, discovering that she is a fairy with fire powers, enrolls in a magical Otherworld boarding school called Alfea. She befriends several other fairies who help her uncover her past. They must fight the ancient creatures known as the Burned Ones, who return to the Otherworld and threaten everyone there.
The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist
True crime fans are sure to enjoy The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist. This three-part documentary series focuses on the group known as The Bling Ring, who broke into the homes of several celebrities in 2008 and 2009.
The group consisted of teenagers and adults who targeted famous residents of Hollywood and Calabasas. During dozens of burglaries, the group seized more than $3 million in cash and personal items. Houses hit by the group included Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox, to name a few victims.
Schitt’s Creek seasons 1-6
The highly entertaining sitcom Schitt’s Creek will be leaving Netflix on October 2. So you better get that last viewing now. Created by the real life father and son duo of Eugene and Dan Levy, the series sees the pair portray father and son onscreen. Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy join them to create the Rose family.
The series follows the once wealthy family who lose everything due to the fraud of their business manager. Their only remaining asset, a small Canadian town called Schitt’s Creek, bought as a joke many years before, is the only place they should call home. They must drastically change their lives as their posh attitudes clash with the locals.
Dynasty season 5
The fifth and final season of The CW series Dynasty will be released on September 24. This series is based on the 1980s primetime soap opera of the same name, but is a modernized take on that story.
The original was set in Denver, CO, but this series is set in Atlanta, GA, and pits the Carringtons and Colbys, two of America’s wealthiest families, in a feud as they battle for control of their fortune and their family. Dynasty ells of all the glitz and glamor of the elite while exposing the corruption that wealth often brings.
