Sometimes the NBA offseason is a flurry of non-stop activity. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of the movement that occurs in any given summer.
This year’s offseason was shaping up to be one of those summers. There was certainly a lot going on in the beginning. Dejounte Murray landed on the Atlanta Hawks. Malcolm Brogdon was acquired by the Boston Celtics. Rudy Gobert is a Timberwolf from Minnesota.
Recently, all activity has stopped. There are several explanations. Some would say that same Gobert trade broke the deal – the Timberwolves paid so much for Gobert that accepting less for a player like, say, Kevin Durant would be untenable.
Of course, Durant’s price was still likely to be high enough to lock out the market. Either way, we’ve seen very little movement since his trade request.
