Big changes are slated for the 2008 Peugeot small crossover. It’s expected to receive a mid-cycle facelift later this year, which will bring refreshed styling and new electrified powertrains under the hood. Just a few days ago we shared the first spy photos with the revised model and there are already unofficial renders previewing the design changes.
Our friends at Kolesa.ru made digital drawings of the Peugeot 2008 2024 in GT-Line version, which is the highest mark for the crossover. As you can see from the photos below, the biggest changes from the pre-facelift model are at the front where the 2008 is expected to get a new grille inspired by the 308 hatchback and wagon. , as well as the 408 fastback. The brand’s new logo takes center stage and below that new grille is a modified bumper design with fake air intakes at the corners.
Minimal tweaks to the headlights are also possible, but the prototype we spied earlier this week had the standard halogen headlights instead of the optional full-LED clusters. At the rear, these new renderings feature slightly revamped taillights with new internal graphics plus a new Peugeot logo. The rear bumper also seems to have small changes.
The French company has already confirmed that the 2008 facelift will receive new mild hybrid engines. These new PureTech mills will have two power stages (100 and 130 horsepower) and will both be mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The transmission will incorporate a 21 kilowatt electric motor for additional low-end torque and up to 15% better fuel efficiency.
As for the all-electric e-2008, there are healthy improvements that could be made as well. Just recently, Peugeot gave the closely related e-208 a new electric motor rated at 156hp and a larger battery for a range of up to 250 miles (400 kilometers) on a single charge. . We expect the electric crossover to get the same hardware upgrades when it debuts later this year.
