2024 Ford Mustang Shooting Brake Render Imagines A Long-Roofed Pony

This month is very special for Ford. One of the automaker’s iconic nameplates has been given a new generation and the new Mustang continues to grab headlines with more news to come almost daily. It’s been a little quiet this morning and we’ve decided it’s time to share something unofficial with you. But still linked to the most popular sports car in the world.

If you’re wondering what the car you see pictured above is, don’t rush to jump to conclusions just yet. This is an unofficial render showing what a station wagon version of the pony car might look like. And it’s fair to say that this is a traditional shooting brake with only two doors and not a station wagon. The drawing comes from X-Tomi design.

At a glance, the idea of a long-roofed Mustang probably doesn’t ring true, but we have to admit, we quite like what we see. The new Mustang’s muscular rear fenders merge nicely with the sloping roofline in a tall C-pillar, which marks the end of the vehicle when viewed from the side. There’s no rear view available, although we assume the rear fascia remains unchanged but gets a small rear window under the spoiler.

Earlier this month, Ford released several Mustang sketches that depicted alternate designs. Among them was a virtual four-door sedan-like design suggesting that a more practical version of the sports car was in the works at some point. We don’t know what happened with the project, but we can imagine a family of Mustang-branded vehicles, which could include the Mustang pony, Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, Mustang sedan, and Mustang shooting brake. .

Unfortunately, only the first two models exist at the moment. We doubt Ford will expand the Mustang lineup with more practical derivatives any time soon, but if it ever decides to do so, there are already some pretty cool ideas.
