2023 Mercedes EQV Facelift Spied Hiding Redesigned front fascia

With Volkswagen ID. Buzz all the rage this year, the Mercedes EQV has temporarily fallen into oblivion. However, that’s all set to change later in 2023 when the three-pointed star gives its electric van a boost. Meanwhile, automotive paparazzi spotted a prototype resting in a parking lot somewhere in Finland between test sessions. We can immediately tell that this is the electric version by the license plate ending in “E”.

Although the EQV was introduced around three years ago, it is based on the third-generation V-Class which has been around since 2014. As a result, it is starting to look outdated compared to the brand’s recent generation of models. German luxury. For this reason, the facelift will come with completely redesigned headlights that appear to follow recent design trends from Mercedes. The front bumper is completely covered in camouflage and it presumably continues to hide the charging port.

Mercedes has also partially covered the rear lights, although judging by the areas left exposed, we don’t notice any changes from the current EQV. The upper part of the rear bumper as well as the lower part of the tailgate are also disguised for some reason. Our spies weren’t able to take a look inside, but it looks like the steering wheel and dashboard were still covered in a piece of fabric, hinting at some changes.

It remains to be seen whether the changes will be far-reaching to improve efficiency and increase range beyond 418 kilometers (260 miles). The EQV 300 is able to cover this distance thanks to its larger battery which has a useful capacity of 90 kWh. The cheaper EQV 250 with a smaller 60 kWh pack is rated at 231 km (144 miles) in the same WLTP cycle.

Further down the line, Mercedes-Benz Vans will introduce an all-new electric van architecture dubbed VAN.EA. It will underpin a series of medium and large vans slated for phased release from the middle of the decade.
