After a few wild and somewhat bizarre games last weekend, all tickets were punched for the NFL Championship on Sunday.
What might just be the best weekend on the NFL schedule got off to a spectacular start on Saturday. The NFL Divisional Playoffs looked exciting with four intriguing matchups on the schedule, and Game 1 did not disappoint.
The action kicked off with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans in Nashville and ended with a game-winning field goal from 52 yards by Bengals rookie Evan McPherson, which propelled Cincinnati into the title game. AFC. The last drink also came down to a field goal, as veteran Robbie Gould sent the 49ers into the NFC title game and sent Aaron Rodgers and the Packers into the unknown future.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams upset Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-27, in the third straight thriller of the weekend to end on a field goal.
The weekend ended with what may have been the best game of the NFL season, and perhaps the greatest post-season game of all time, in Kansas City as Josh Allen of Buffalo and Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs put on an air show. The visiting Bills rallied for what looked like a game-winning touchdown with 13 seconds left for a 36-33 lead, but it was still too much time for Mahomes, as the Chiefs kicked an tying goal as the regulation ended up sending the game to overtime. The Chiefs won the toss and walked downfield to win on a touchdown pass from Mahomes to Travis Kelce.
