Gregg Berhalter makes two changes from the starting XI who faced Canada last Sunday, reinserting forwards Paul Arriola and Matthew Hoppe.

Captain of the USMNT for the first time tonight, Arriola will see his first action since his departure in the 14e minute of the opening of the Gold Cup on July 11 against Haiti. Arriola is the 14e different player to wear the armband under Gregg Berhalter.

Midfielders Sebastian Lletget and Kellyn Acosta both started the United States’ game against Jamaica on March 25 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Lletget recorded his first career brace in the 4-1 victory.

Playing for USMNT in his hometown just a day after turning 26e anniversary, Kellyn Acosta is playing her 12th straight game tonight for the United States. Acosta is the only player to have participated in all 11 USMNT matches in 2021.

At 19 years and 58 days old, Gianluca Busio will become the second youngest player to debut for USMNT in a Gold Cup Knockout Round match. Juan Agudelo was the youngest at 18 years and 221 days for the 2011 Gold Cup semi-final against Panama on June 22, 2011.

Nicholas Gioacchini turns 21st birthday today. If he were to make the match, he would be the third USMNT player to appear on his birthday this year after Chris Richards (March 28 v Northern Ireland) and Ethan Horvath (June 9 v Costa Rica).

Approved as Walker Zimmerman’s medical replacement, replacement defenseman Henry Kessler would make his USMNT debut if he showed up tonight.

Teams are entitled to five substitutions in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup group stage. If the game goes into extra time, the teams are entitled to one additional substitution.

The United States is 17-3-8 against Jamaica and 5-1-0 against the Reggae Boyz in the Gold Cup game.

This is the fourth tournament in a row that the United States and Jamaica will meet in the knockout stage of the Gold Cup. Jamaica beat the United States 2-1 in the 2015 semifinals, before the United States knocked down the Reggae Boyz 2-1 in the 2017 final and 3-1 in the 2019 semi-final.
