2020 NFL Free Agency: Future Hall of Fame RB Frank Gore Intends to Continue Playing in 2020, Report Says

Frank Gore wants more. The 36-year-old veteran, a ball carrier, is only a few weeks away from the end of his 15th season in the NFL and has not yet committed to return for a 16th when approaching free agency . It’s now changed, Gore apparently looking to tie his cleats again in 2020, by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, who pushes him into conversation for teams looking to strengthen their backfield this coming season.

Gore will be an unrestricted free agent at the start of the league year on March 18, and teams can start negotiating with him during the legal sabotage period that begins two days before. Although he is not a high level backlog at this point in his career, he has proven that he still has more than enough tread on his tires to be a productive replacement who can also present himself as a starter in for injury, and for pennies on the dollar.

He is also still durable, having been active for 16 games with the Buffalo Bills in 2019, with a one-year contract worth $ 2 million, and delivered 599 yards and two touchdowns in his eight starts in the process.

At this rate, assuming Gore continues to play beyond 2020, he will have a chance to be in the NFL along with his son, Frank Gore, Jr., who is a freshman south of Mississippi. It would be a true testament to what is already a Hall of Fame career, but the first leg of this continuous journey convinces a team that it should be on their list this season.

Gore is currently third on the all-time NFL list, behind Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton, with 15,347 yards and over. The second oldest player in the NFL to rush over 100 yards, there is bound to be a club that will give him a chance, and he has already expressed interest in a possible meeting with the Miami Dolphins, who have a need urgent from a revamped backfield after swapping Kenyan Drake for the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.

A new signing by Gore would help consolidate the position for them, and he is ready to prove that retirement could be more distant than many people think.
