Welcome to the overview of the new Android games that were put online on the Play Store or that we spotted the previous week. Today, I have the surprise release of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, a puzzle-based title from Harvest Moon and a nice rendition of the developer’s British game Countdown behind Chessplode. So without further ado, here are the most notable Android games released during the week of March 2, 2020.

Please wait until this page loads completely to see the widgets, which include ratings and pricing information.

Games

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Android police coverage: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is one of the best Metroidvania games ever, now available on Android

Konami surprised everyone this week by launching Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the Google Play Store, the very game that defined the genre Metroidvania. It is easily one of the best Metroidvanias produced to date, even if it is considered to be the first, which really testifies to the refinement of this aging title. More or less, it is a port of the PSP version, so it contains a new vocal work on the original PS1 offer. Surprisingly, Konami has seen fit to include physical controller support out of the box, although there is no way to customize these controls. Overall, it’s an extremely solid version, and for $ 2.99, you can’t really go wrong.

Monetization: $ 2.99 / no ad / no IAP

Harvest Moon: Mad Dash

Android police coverage: Harvest Moon: Mad Dash turns farm simulation into a casual puzzle now available on the Play Store

Harvest Moon: Mad Dash is a casual Natsume puzzle that features a friendly Harvest Moon theme. Unlike the titles of the main series, it is a derivative version where the corresponding crops are the objective, while dragging and dropping the crops across the field. This is a level-based version, and yes, you will want to get three stars in each level if you want to finish this title. Unlike many mobile games, it’s a premium title, so what you see is what you get.

Monetization: $ 4.99 / without advertising / without IAP

POWERCUT, Inc.

POWERCUT, Inc. is an arcade game that is played as a management title. It will be your job to control the power supplied to your employees. If you do not provide enough energy, you will not make much money. Of course, if you spoil your employees, things can also go wrong. It will take a perfect balance of diet to get through this title, which is actually a lot more fun than it seems. If you like to exercise control in a modest but aggravating way, you will love this version.

Monetization: $ 3.49 / no ad / no IAP

ABC of Dr Seuss – An incredible AR alphabet!

Dr. Seuss ABC is an augmented reality educational game that features Dr. Seuss favorite characters. It is essentially an alphabet app designed to help children learn letters and words, all through the adorable AR characters displayed on your screen as if they were in your real environment. This is why I have no doubt that young children will easily be able to take advantage of this version.

Monetization: $ 3.99 / no ad / no IAP

Human Heroes Atom Blast – Elements with Curie

Human Heroes Ltd has released sophisticated educational games in the past year or so, and Human Heroes Atom Blast – Elements With Curie is the latest title in the series. It covers many of the topics covered in the UK National Curriculum and appears to be focused on the real science behind Marie Curie’s research into radioactivity. So yes, this is a very refined educational game that offers smooth art and quality vocal work, but this varnish is exactly the reason why the title only supports English-speaking users, limiting its useful in many areas.

Monetization: free / without advertising / without IAP

Death rush

Death Rush is an early access version that offers simple shooting action. It will be your job to mow hordes of bad guys with an assortment of weapons, and there are even a few boss fights in the mix to keep things interesting. Of course, since this is an early access version, the monetization of the game is not yet active, so this is probably the best time to intervene before things get bogged down with the usual F2P mechanisms. .

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / no PAI

Hit shadow

Hit Shadow is a unique version of Ketchapp which aims to teach users how to make ghost puppets as a game mechanic. To accomplish this task, you will need to place your fingers on the screen in order to create the shapes also displayed on your screen. , which can be difficult but also quite fun, although it’s clear that the game lacks polish. So I can’t say this game will keep you entertained for hours, and the title’s annoying ads certainly don’t help you with that either.

Men in Black: Galaxy Defenders

It looks like Men In Black: Galaxy Defenders is currently being tested as a progressive launch version in the Philippines. This means that the majority of our readers will not yet be able to get started with this title, although since it is already available in some territories, I think there may be more than a few readers here who would like to take a closer look at the game. Overall, this title is a rail shooter that features a story that takes place in the Men in Black universe.

Z.O.N.A Shadow of Lemansk Redux

Z.O.N.A Shadow of Lemansk Redux is the latest version of AGaming +, a mobile developer who knows a thing or two about horror games. It would seem that this version is a remastering of an older version, although I have to say that it is not a bad thing since the original ZONA Shadow of Lemansk was a nice post-apocalyptic first person shooter apart whole.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAPs $ 1.99 each

Brainito – Words vs numbers

Brainito – Words vs Numbers comes from the creator of Chessplode, one of my favorite chess games on the Play Store. Brainito is another solid version of the developer, but this time, the gameplay is centered on the mechanics of the British game show Countdown. Basically, it is a game that offers tricks where you form words and tricks where you perform simple calculations. Overall, the title is well-designed, easy to navigate, and the gameplay is pretty self-explanatory, which is why you shouldn’t repeat this version.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 1.99 to $ 2.49

Escape Machine City: Airborne

Escape Machine City: Airborne is a wonderful escape game from Snapbreak, the same people behind the Far exhaust series. So clearly, he’s a developer who knows what he’s doing in this genre, and after playing Escape Machine City, it’s obvious that the title is stacking. There are many different puzzles to solve and the first eight levels are free, so players can decide if they want to buy the title via in-app purchase if they like what to taste.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 1.99 to $ 3.99

Don Zombie: a final fight against the Horde

Halloween may not last another seven months, but that doesn’t mean that fighting for survival in a zombie apocalypse still can’t be fun. Don Zombie plays like a classic action shooter, so you better believe you will find many cool weapons to arm yourself. As you earn money and fight against the many hordes of zombies in the game, you will be able to upgrade your gear so that you can kill the mass of the undead that plague the game world.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 2.99 to $ 7.99

RaceCraft – Build & Race

RaceCraft – Build & Race is just that, a runner where you build your own stunt courses. These courses can then be run online against friends or family, and of course, there are a ton of customization options so everyone can look unique during the race. Keep in mind that many of the title’s features are locked behind the payment walls, where in-title purchases come into play.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 0.99 to $ 19.99

Orc heist

Orc Heist is an adorable casual game where you will lower felines into many mouths of orcas to recover the treasure that these orcas have eaten. Essentially, this is a game focused on timing, and therefore it will be your job to time your shots on the screen so as not to wake the sleeping orcas while you dive into their mouths to retrieve the lost treasure.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 0.99 to $ 49.99

It’s literally just mowing

Now that spring is almost here, it’s time again for a plethora of mowing games to hit the Play Store, and it looks like Literally Just Mowing is one of the first for 2020. Like most mowing, the objective is to mow in digital meters, but even if this is described as a “Zen experience”, the title is filled with in-app purchases. For a game designed around a simple mechanism like mowing, it seems very strange that its in-app purchases reach $ 49.99 per item. Man, it’s almost like there’s nothing Zen in an F2P game filed with IAPs, no matter how many times the game is described otherwise.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 0.99 to $ 49.99

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is a new version of Netmarble, and it’s a brand new turn-based RPG that features characters from the manga and anime The Seven Deadly Sins. Like most branded free versions, this mobile RPG contains a load of in-app purchases while offering the same cranky gameplay and PvP content as all other F2P RPGs on the Play Store. Imagine that.

Monetization: free / contains advertisements / IAP from $ 0.99 to $ 79.99

Wild brawlers

Wild Brawlers is the latest battle royale game to hit the Play Store. It’s a title that plays as the crow flies, which should keep the title graphics from being overly demanding. Just like an io exit, it will be up to the player to try to survive each round as the last man standing. Of course, there are tons of weapons to use, not to mention a plethora of cosmetics for your character. Essentially, it’s a game that is played like a bigger Brawl Stars game, and unfortunately, its monetization matches its inspiration.

Monetization: free / ad-free / IAP from $ 0.99 to $ 99.99

Wild border

Wild Frontier is a brand new strategy game set in the Wild West. Essentially, this title plays like any other Clash of Clans clone on the Play Store, although its theme and art are nice. As you might expect, current reviews offer a mix of blind advocates of all styles of monetization, and the rest are bad reviews from people who can clearly see the purpose of this release. Just like any free title, it all comes down to whether you’re ready to ignore the greedy (and boring) monetization of the game.

Scrabble® GO – New word game

You would think at this point that greedy companies would have lacked the means to monetize the Scrabble game. Electronic Arts has somehow managed to incorporate $ 49.99 of in-app purchases in its version, and the Words with Friends series has stuffed ridiculous IAPS into its clones since the first version. Then comes Scopely this week with the launch of Scrabble GO – New pun, which not only changes the familiar mechanics of the base game by adding a bunch of new game modes, but the company also managed to stuff $ 299.99 in IAP. Yes, you read that right, Scoopy thinks people will spend $ 300 on another mobile Scrabble title, and worse, the studio is not wrong.
