It’s rare for an actor to spend his entire career solely in big movies. Not all movies are created equal, and it’s a fact of life that some end up being better than others. High profile, successful actors can usually count on ending up in more good movies than bad ones (a great casting agent helps of course), but most well-known Hollywood actors probably have a handful of movies. on which they do not particularly look. great tenderness.
The following films may well fall into this category for the actors involved. Not all of them are universally hated, but they aren’t generally considered great movies anyway. The following films are also notable for containing amazing actors, but despite this, the high level of star power didn’t necessarily translate into a quality film, with some of the actors below no doubt losing their talents.
1 “The Snowman” (2017)
The Snowman is the kind of film that looked good on paper, but it turned out to be disappointing, as evidenced by its low score of just 23% on Metacritic. Its story follows a detective who goes by the amusing name Harry Hole as he investigates a possible serial killer in a small Norwegian town in the dead of winter.
Part of the reason it sounded like a sure thing was its impressive cast, which included stars like Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, JK Simmons And Val Kilmer. He also had an impressive talent behind the scenes, considering his director, Thomas Alfredsonalso did Leave the one on the right inand it was co-edited by the talented Thelma Schoonmakerwho is well known for her incredible editing work of almost all Martin Scorsesesince 1980. It’s a crime thriller that just doesn’t go well at all, which is a shame considering the talent attached to it.
2 ‘Crash’ (2004)
When judged by his Oscar results, Accident can certainly be considered a success. For some reason, Oscar voters really gravitated to the film’s callous look at race and prejudice in 21st-century America. It’s all done in such a clunky way that even if you think his intentions are good, parts of the movie are clunky at best and downright uncomfortable at worst.
But again, it’s hard not to be impressed by the sheer number of big stars in its ensemble cast. The cast in question includes Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard And Thandiwe Newton…but even big fans of these actors should come close Accident with the greatest caution.
3 “X-Men: Apocalypse” (2016)
Almost all the movies x-men series features an impressive cast, but X-Men: Apocalypse takes things a step further. To list all the big names in the cast would take almost an entire paragraph of text, but for starters it includes Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, james mcavoyMichael Fassbender, Sophie Turner And Nicolas Hoult.
But despite such an impressive cast of actors, X-Men: Apocalypse is often considered one of the series’ weakest entries, and arguably the one that deflated interest in the x-men in its entirety. Some may find a bit of morbid curiosity watching it unfold in disarray, but it’s otherwise a superhero movie that can be safely missed.
4 ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ (2004)
Of the three films of Oceanthe trilogy of , released between 2001 and 2007, the second, Ocean’s Twelve, is probably the lowest. It retains the sleek styling and some of the humor of the well-received first film, but isn’t quite as engaging as a story, given that it surprisingly tones down the heist elements that helped make the first film a such success.
However, if there are people who just want to see a movie with tons of stars, Ocean’s Twelve will certainly have covered them. These films are well known for featuring many of the biggest Hollywood stars of the 2000s, with actors here including George Clooney, brad pitt, Matt Damon, julia robert and even Bruce Willis playing a version of himself in what is probably the best scene in the film.
5 Amsterdam (2022)
Given that it hasn’t exactly received the highest praise from critics, the most remarkable thing about amsterdam ends up being his cast. It’s no wonder the star rating was heavily promoted both in the trailer and on the movie’s posters, because otherwise, the critics’ approval rating of just 33% on Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t. not really appealing.
It is nonetheless remarkable that amsterdam includes Christian Bale, John David Washington, Margot Robbie, Anya Taylor Joy, Michael Shannon and even robert deniro, to name a few. It’s unclear exactly what drew so many high-profile names to a film that ended up disappointing viewers and critics alike, but the movie industry can be unusual and unpredictable at times…
6 “Thor: Love and Thunder” (2022)
It would be generous to label Thor: Love and Thunder as divisive, considering that’s probably the best thing that can be said about the fourth Thor movie. The character had been incredibly well received in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity Warand then Avengers: Endgamewhich was such a pity that love and thunder ended up missing and undoing some of the goodwill of the previous films.
It’s even more disappointing because love and thunder might have the best cast of them all Thor movie, but more or less wasted them. He boasted Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Russell CroweChristian Bale and most of the main actors of the guardians of the galaxy movies, but still couldn’t use their collective talent to help make another great movie starring the God of Thunder.
7 ‘Nine’ (2009)
Nine is a musical comedy released coincidentally in 2009, and has gathered a large number of Oscar winners in its remarkable cast. Daniel Day Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench And Sophie Loren are all in the film, which makes its overall cast truly impressive.
Ultimately, however, Nine wasn’t exactly a critical hit, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 39%. Those who can resist the massive cast and come up with the idea of watching a film about a famous director struggling with his professional and personal life would be better off just watching 1963. 8½on which the film’s story is based.
8 “The Consumables” (2010)
The basic premise of The Expendables is that it’s going to throw a whole bunch of famous action movie stars into one movie, and so action movie fans will probably want to check it out. Of course, while the real plot is about taking down a rogue CIA agent, few people interested in the film are likely to care so much about the story.
Its sequels up the ante when it comes to big names, but the first is certainly no slouch when it comes to casting, given its features. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, mickey rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Jet Li and Bruce Willis. Maybe seeing so many iconic action stars in one movie is enough for viewers to have a good time, but it wasn’t quite enough for critics considering the movie has a 45 rating. % on Metacritic.
9 ‘Armageddon’ (1998)
As director, Michael Bay is known for his love of excess, as well as the way he enjoys making over-the-top, explosion-filled films. Armageddon, therefore, delivers like a Michael Bay movie – for better or worse – given that its ridiculous premise involves a group of oil rig workers being trained to become astronauts so they can go into the world. space and destroy an asteroid before it collides with Earth, destroying the human race entirely.
Say what you want about the film, but you can’t deny its exceptional cast. Armageddon stars Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thorton, Steve Buscemi And Owen Wilsonamong other things, making it a silly but star-studded show about preventing the end of the world.
ten ‘Movie 43’ (2013)
Standing as a perfect example of how not to skit comedy, Movie 43 is known to be one of the worst comedies of the 21st century to date. It treats viewers to one unfunny skit after another, with the resulting film being an absolute endurance test to sit on.
There are almost too many famous people inexplicably involved to mention, with some of the biggest names being Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Chris Pratt, Emma Stone, Richard Gere And Halle Berry. Read the story behind Movie 43 and the fact that so many people ended up in such a bad movie is more interesting than the movie itself…but not by much.
