10 Celebrities You Forgot Were In The Sims – TheGamer

The concept of fame isn’t new to The Sims – you’ve been able to be a celebrity since the Superstar expansion for the very first game. In it, whether you made your Sim a household name or just passed your time in Studio Town flattering and collecting autographs, celebrities are something of a staple on the show.

And while much of this has tended to make the fictional Sims famous in-game, there have also been crossovers with real life. IRL celebrities have long been included in the various versions of the game, so I wanted to revisit some of my favorites from the past few decades.

GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

10/10 Freddie Prinze Jr.

My exposure to Freddie Prinze Jr. came from the Scooby-Doo live-action movies that came out just before he appeared in The Sims: Superstar, but he was also a staple in 90s movies like She Is. all that and I know what you did last. Summer. Anyway, I spent a lot of time in Studio Town thinking about Fred Jones as I hounded his actor for autographs.

Prinze Jr. is an actor, producer, and writer, and most recently started a WWE podcast after several appearances and producer stints for the brand. It was made available for download from the official Sims website at the time if you wanted to incorporate it into your Superstar game.

9/10 Several members of Bon Jovi

Although Bon Jovi, the group, takes its name from Jon Bon Jovi, its singer, he is not the only member of the group to appear in The Sims: Superstar. Guitarist, songwriter and producer Richie Sambora left the band after a three-decade run in 2013, but appeared alongside Jon in The Sims expansion in 2003.

Both Jon and Richie can be found in Studio Town and have been asking for autographs, though they more often appear separately rather than as a group unit like the other celebrities. If you tried to catch them both at the same time, you should have lived on a prayer.

8/10 Millie Bobby Brown

Despite being the youngest and newest celebrity on this list, Millie Bobby Brown showed up for a wildly different and much healthier reason. She wasn’t a star in her looks – in fact, she wasn’t even famous: the teenager appeared in the game as the event coordinator for the Positivity Challenge.

Challenge events have been in The Sims 4 for a while, and Brown’s was in the game for almost a month between November and December 2018. She showed up when you called the event coordinator, told you offered a box of kindness and kicked you off. on a mission to earn more decorative rewards for being kind to Sims in your neighborhood.

7/10 Andy Warhol

Warhol made a posthumous appearance in The Sims as one of The Sims: Superstar’s famous NPCs, but he was also mentioned several times throughout the series. If you don’t recognize him himself, then you absolutely recognize his infamous play Campbell’s Soup Cans, which has been parodied like many works of art throughout the Sims series.

But in Superstar, he was different from the rest of the NPC celebrities in that he had a real job after signing autographs. As a real-life artist and filmmaker, Warhol in the game was the photographer who ran the photo shoot if your Sim was pursuing a Supermodel celebrity career.

6/10 Katy Perry

While Katy Perry is best known for her illustrious successful music career, she first ventured into other endeavors in 2010. her song “Hot n Cold” in The Sims 2: Apartment Life, but she is also appeared in a Collector’s Edition of The Sims 3: Showtime, this time as a real Sim.

But Perry wasn’t done with The Sims even after that – she ended up releasing Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, her own candy-based item pack for The Sims 3 in 2012. fans as it was more expensive than regular item packs. , but it included a lot for an item pack – 33 clothes, 55 items, three locations, and even an exclusive poster if you purchased it through Origin.

5/10 Marilyn Monroe

One of the most iconic and well-known celebrities of all time, although Monroe herself died in 1962, she was introduced in The Sims: Superstar four decades later in 2003. In the game, she has spent most of his time in Studio Town. giving autographs and hanging out in her trailer, but she’d also stop by your house, paparazzi in tow, if your famous Sim won an award.

Her outfit is based on an actual costume she wore in Gentleman Prefer Blondes. It’s a daring strapless pink dress with matching gloves and heels, complete with a slew of sparkly jewelry.

4/10 Christina Aguilera

Very early in a celebrity career that started young, popular singer and TV personality Christina Aguilera appeared in The Sims: Superstar. Like the other celebrities included in the pack, she can most often be found wandering around Studio Town, usually ready to hand out autographs.

Interestingly, however, The Sims: Superstar wasn’t Aguilera’s only appearance in a video game either, which seems odd for a celebrity in a career. outside game. More than a decade after making a splash as a celebrity NPC Sim, Aguilera has also appeared as a download in Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo 3DS.

3/10 April Lavigne

There was absolutely nothing “complicated” about Avril Lavigne’s appearance in The Sims: Superstar. Like other celebrities of the time, Lavigne hung around the grounds of Studio Town, handing out autographs and wandering aimlessly.

Although, unlike other celebrities, Lavigne feels almost at home, hanging out in public places. Her iconic video for “Sk8r Boi” (it’s so wild to type like that two decades and an English degree after exclusively typing like that on AIM, to age me a bit) was all about her and his skater buddies, wreaking havoc on a local mall. That’s all very the epitome of 2003 angst.

2/10 Drew Carey

I’ve mentioned a lot of celebrities who came with The Sims: Superstar, but here you have to expect famous people. However, when you were hosting a house party and had a particularly standout one, actor and comedian Drew Carey would show up at your house unannounced, arriving in a limo and amusing your guests with his presence.

However, the requirements for getting him to show up were tough, and his visit was considered quite an achievement. Your party must have lasted over 135 minutes, and you should have thrown it well, with a score of at least 55. But once he showed up, your friends would be buzzing about him all night – you know that. was a cool party when a Hollywood star necessary to be present.

1/10 Everybody in the Black Eyed Peas

I’ve played nearly every version of The Sims since I started the series in the early 2000s as a kid, and one of the most iconic games in my opinion remains The Urbz: Sims in the City . I mean why on earth did the Black-Eyed Peas team up with Maxis to bring the Sims to various neighborhoods in a downtown area after Will.i.am tasked you with making friends and becoming famous ? Who knows, but I’m glad they did, because it was great.

Releases for The Sims outside of the main series were always different from the main games, and they received mixed reviews. They were generally more objective-oriented than open-ended PC sandbox games, and The Urbz saw you leave that familiarity to progress from district to district, creating a “Rep”, working and making friends. I’ve always targeted the Black Eyed Peas first when I come to a new district, anyway – be my friend, Fergie.
