It is important to train. It helps you maintain good health, keep the weight off and feel good. However, working is also quite boring. You basically do something over and over for a long time for benefits that you don’t see for weeks. Lots of people spend time with things like music, podcasts, or training with other people. However, some may want motivation with a little more commitment. We can help with that! Here are the best fitness games and training games for Android!

For the record, there is actually quite a kind of fitness game for mobile that has nothing to do with player training. These are usually simulators of a kind where you turn a skinny person into a bodybuilder or you build a gym or something like that. This is not a list of these types of games. Each game on this list requires, or at least encourages, the player to practice.

Success

Price: Free

Success is not really a game, but it does a decent job of motivating people to train. The app basically pays you for fitness. You won’t be able to quit your job or anything, but you should have enough to spoil yourself from time to time with something. Basically, the app keeps track of your various statistics and academics use it as source material for studies. Each time you save your statistics, you get points. You possibly exchange these points for prices. Since there are prizes, it counts completely as a game. In any case, the application is free to download and use.

Burn your fat with me

Price: Free / Up to $ 3.49

Who is ready to get into strange fitness games? Burn Your Fat With Me is a dating simulator with a fitness component. The game is very similar to a Doctor Layton or Phoenix Wright game. However, instead of creating cases or solving puzzles, you are trying to burn fat. The player makes their way through various achievements in the game such as doing 50 sit-ups in three minutes and these achievements advance the story. The visual novel and simulated dating aspect is something you don’t see every day. The one linked to the button below is for guys and there is another for women. These are two of the weirdest fitness games we have found. God bless Japan.

CycleCast

Price: Free trial / $ 9.99 per month / $ 89.99 per year

CycleCast is an interesting application if you have a stationary bike at home. It allows you to take spin classes at home with real instructors, music and other fun stuff. The app includes over 800 cycling workouts in 20, 30, 45 and 60 minute increments. It’s not quite a game, but it relieves the boredom of working alone without interaction. There are several apps like this, including CycleGo, Arcade Fitness, and others that occasionally add a few game elements. The peloton is also a popular option for stationary cyclists.

Fitness RPG

Price: Free to play

Fitness RPG is basically a simple mobile gacha game. It has the usual stuff like turn-based combat, various heroes to play with, online PvP and a story to play. It even has an energy system to limit the amount of play. However, you can overcome this limit by walking. The app doubles as a pedometer and gives you free energy to play the game while walking. You can connect Google Fit or Fitbit to the app so it doesn’t have to count your steps. The game itself is a bit repetitive and isn’t the most inspiring of its kind. However, its pedometer function is unique and perfect for a list like this.

Pokemon Go and similar games

Price: Free to play

There are a number of augmented reality games that encourage walking to get things. The most popular of these is Pokemon Go. You go outside, walk around, spin Poke Stops for loot, fight other players in gyms and catch Pokemon. You absolutely cannot play this game at home and you get more things the more you walk around. Niantic has a few other games if Pokemon isn’t your thing, including Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Ingress. There are also other games in the genre, including Jurassic Park Alive and The Walking Dead: Our World. Here is a complete list in case you want to know more.

Walkr

Price: Free to play

Walkr is a hybrid of a fitness game and an adventure game. Players walk around and the game follows the steps. He then uses these steps to move players around the game world. The game has 50 planets to discover, various missions to complete, and a goal to help you reach 10,000 steps a day. Missions affect the game world, so you build things up as you go. The game worked well during our tests, but some players filed complaints about the application which did not always record the stages.

Wokamon

Price: Free to play

Wokamon is a hybrid between a fitness game and a Tamagotchi style simulator. The concept is not very different from the other games on the list. You walk a lot of steps and that gives you tricks in the game. Players earn more Wokamons by walking and that is the central premise of the game. The energy they get from our walk helps save their planet . Either way, it’s a cute little game with a surprisingly small amount of player interaction. You log in, take a walk, then use the energy for the game stuff and that’s it.

Zombies, run!

Price: Free / $ 3.99 per month / $ 24.99 per year

Zombies, run! is a game for walkers, runners and joggers. The game starts when you start your exercise and progresses as you run more distance. There are over 300 story missions to complete and many of them literally make you run away from a horde of zombies and don’t complete the level until you run far enough. It is one of the original mobile fitness games and it took a long time to mature. The cost of the subscription helps support the developer when new content is released. It’s relatively inexpensive compared to most fitness plans, and we like that.

Zwift

Price: Free / Varies

Zwift is another bike game for people with stationary bikes at home. This is actually a game. You connect your device to Zwift, then literally race with other players. There are over 1,000 structured workouts, various games, and other things you can do. The advantage is that it is much more fun to race than to cycle alone. However, the downside is that you need some sort of sensor such as the Zwift Run Pod or a Wahoo RPM cadence and cadence sensor to connect to the app. You can choose from several products, but you need them to use this app.

Fitness games on other platforms

Price: Varied

Mobile isn’t the best platform for this sort of thing. There are a bunch of training games for other platforms or, at least, games that raise your blood during normal play. Some notable examples include Ring Fit Adventure, Just Dance 2020 and Fitness Boxing on Nintendo Switch as well as Beat Saber on Oculus Rift and PS4. Of course, you have options like the old Wii Fit and many others. If you have other video game systems, it’s worth googling these platforms to see if there are any training games for your consoles.
